The Scoop on the Coop

Happy Thursday friends!

I have taken quite some time off from the blog and to be honest.. I kinda enjoyed it!
But I'm notorious for starting and quitting things,
so I'm going to stick to it and see this through!

So when I last posted, I was getting ready for the Mil Ball, and
let me tell you, it was one of the best ball's I have been to.
Not sure why, but I had a great time!

So the next day after, when we got home we got right to work on the chicken coop.
The chicks are right around 5 weeks now and we did not get this thing built soon enough.

They are not sleeping the nights in it just yet but they spend their
days in the run and they absolutely love it.

Here's Miss Petunia modeling the new coop, I swear,
I wish I was half as photogenic as she is!LOL

My husband was such a trooper and really whipped this baby up in a short amount of time.
It took him about 2 days to cut and assemble each panel and then the third day to
install it and it looks better then I even imagined.

Our chicken garden is turning out  just too cute and we got a new bench so we can sit in there after work and just relax and talk about our day.

I never knew how fun having chickens would be, I was teased a little by my girlfriends at the ball about how funny it was I had chickens... but it really has been a blast!

I tell them they're missing out!

I mean it's free entertainment and a reason to stay outside.. which I love...
I love spending time outdoors!

Here you can see the chicks in their new run.

And again here is the Doodle basking in all her hard work.

BTW, when I snapped this pic, she didn't even know the chicks were in the pin,
in fact she didn't even know we had them.
When I say she lives in her own world...
and no,
she is not blind or deaf,
just completely and utterly oblivious.

Needless to say she is one untrustworthy Pei!
{I didn't mean for that to rhyme, I guess I'm just cool like that:)}
I believe she would like to have a nugget dinner...if given the opportunity!

Have a great day friends!
