Vintage. Modern. Floral. Laundry Room ~ Progress

First I would like to say, I expected to be way further along then this. I started designing my floral laundry room project here, before the ORC with just a few things to finish up,
but these few things are taking quite some time.
I had planned to have my stenciling done by Friday night and then I could move onto my counter-top (the one in the laundry room) this weekend.

Modern French Country Dining Room Progress

Almost another week down! I'm so ready, between work, DIYing,
trying to exercise and lets not forget trying to break a broody hen, I'm pooped!
I'm looking forward to chilling this weekend and finishing up on some small things....

So at the end of my ORC reveal,
I talked about making some changes to my kitchen and dining area. I also talked about going to back to my eclectic and french country roots. I talked about how I came to a realization while doing the ORC, that I keep fighting against what my house really is instead of embracing it. I got on the "Modern Farmhouse" bandwagon and instead of incorporating modern here and there, I had to go all out and try to convert my home into a modern farmhouse. I had even schemed of a way on how I could paint my house and make the exterior look more modern.
I honestly don't know what broke my spell, but what ever it was, I'm glad it did. I'm not modern, I like modern aspects, but I like french, rustic, chinoiserie and farmhouse aspects as well.
And that's exactly what I have decided to do, a mix of all.  I am no longer going to limit my style, define my style and most certainly, I'm not going to compromise my style.
No, I'm just going to do me.

The ORC Aftermath: A Before and After Comparison

Maybe it's all this "free time" I have now or maybe I'm just not sure how to function any other way then 'under the gun' but I wanted to show a side by side comparison of the One Room Challenge I completed. I have been clearing out stuff and loading the trailer to take to the curb this weekend...and picking up after the aftermath of what is the ORC... and it got me thinking... I never really did show super good before pics... mostly cause I was embarrassed that the room looked like that. Now that it is all finished, I only feel it's right  my duty to show you how it really looked.
Besides, who doesn't love a good before and after!
I have linked most of my products and or similar items in my
original reveal post you can find that here.

One Room Challenge Week 6~ It's Show Time

It's show time folks!
Cue the Curtains! Dim the Lights!
Just kidding,
I actually changed them out so they would be brighter!

You guys, I can't believe I made it to the finale of week 6,
when I think back to the beginning and challenges of this room,
and lets not forget painting that ceiling,
I. WANT. TO. CRY...
to cry I tell ya...like seriously... tears of JOY of course:)

I'm especially proud of this room because I did it 100% on my own. As I have mentioned probably a gazillion times, my husband is Active Army and currently stationed at FT. Leonard Wood, so on this challenge, the cheese stood alone (that's me, if you didn't get that cheese reference;)

Not to beat a dead horse, but I did it all.. painting, tiling, cutting, sawing, nailing, hanging, cleaning, staging, etc... you get it... but I just wanted to make sure... on account of me being so proud and all...

This Challenge taught me that I am capable of so much more than I give myself credit for, it also forced me to put myself out there and socialize and meet new bloggers, and it has been wonderful. I'm super outgoing in person, but shy on the internet... I know backwards right... but for me, I like being able to read people in person, facial expressions body language, etc. So it was nice to be encouraged to talk to folks that otherwise, I would have never known about.

One Room Challenge: Week 5, Picking up the pieces

I can't believe we are nearing the end of the one room challenge!
I have one week, officially,
to finish this massive room and I'm feeling the pressurešŸ˜“
As I mentioned in the last post, I went to Ft. Leonard Wood
to visit my husband who is stationed there until OCT., it was a great visit,
other than it poured buckets of rain the entire time I was there...
I also barely made it out... almost all roads were flooded and an entire
section of the interstate was flooded.
So, I had to drive an hour north just to go back south... whew!
I'm glad that's done and as they say,
 there's no place like home.

So, I believed once I got home,
I would just jump back on the transformation train and
whip this room right out...
ya...freaking... right....
when I say I have been lacking motivation... well... that's an understatement.
So what do I have to show you for a solid week?
Not much!
Like seriously...
here's a stack of pillows....
and the fabric that was suppose to be pillows by now.
