life Lessons from Matte Black Pumpkins

On Monday I shared my fall home tour, I'm so grateful to Angelina with Peonies and Orange Blossoms for including me:) You can check that out here along with 25 other talented bloggers who are opening up their fall homes.

While white pumpkins are still quite the rage,
I decided to embrace the darker side and painted a few of
my pumpkins Graphite Black by Annie Sloan.
This is one of my favorite blacks because it is not a true black,
and it can take on so many different hues depending on the lighting.

Fall Decor and Entertaining Blogger Home Tour Week

Good Morning and welcome,
hopefully you just got done visiting Cindy at DIY Beautify beautiful fall home tour.
I just love getting to peak into people's homes
and just snatch up all that inspiration... you know...
like your robbin the place;)
And what could be better than one home tour?
How about 5 days (18-22 SEPT) jam packed full of blogger fall home goodness!
Ummmm... Yes Please!
If you are new to Raising a Farmhouse, I just want to say thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy my fall decor and find a bit of inspo, and of course stay a while!
This year I did things a bit different.
My home has done almost a complete 180 since last year.
I was able to get the living room and the ceiling repainted, many projects like the kitchen counter tops resurfaced and cabinets painted, I rearranged furniture, and I am really starting to like the direction and feel our home is heading in.
So since our home is mostly white, ivory and shades of.. lets just call it neutral,
I wanted to opt in for some color in my seasonal decor.

A Sleepy Time Recipe

Good Morning friends!
Hope you are having a fantastic start to your Wednesday!
So yesterday afternoon, I took a trip to Whole Foods to pick up some fresh flowers for my upcoming Fall Home Tour I am going to be apart of... So, while I was there,
I thought I would go ahead and pick up a few essential oils.

Affordable Commercial Kitchen Faucets that make a Statement

Good Morning to ya! I hope you are doing well:)
I had a fantastic weekend of hanging out with family and just relaxing, it's always so nice to get away from  your home for a day or two. It really does help to make you appreciate it more and just not get so sick of all the projects that are lingering...
well at least that's what it's like for me...

A Farmhouse Bench and a Funny Story

So a few weeks back I started rearranging some furniture.. which is nothing new.. but I ended up switching out my hair pin leg table that was up against the stair case and changed it out with the farmhouse bench and french mattress cushion.

The Faux Deconstructed Chair

Happy Tuesday!
I hope you all had a fantastic Holiday weekend.
Ours was jammed packed full of projects... mostly the chicken coop...
But thankfully, that's all most done!
So  a few weeks ago, I had mentioned in a previous post that I was going to make some slipcovers for these chairs. Well Guys, that didn't work out... I'm not really that handy with a sewing machine... I can do the basic straight lines... make a pillow etc. but these barrel chair just proved to be way to difficult... I hate saying that... but it's so true...
But what I am handy with is a staple gun and a glue gun!
So Ta-Da...
I give you the Faux Deconstructed chair...
That's right it's faux cause I didn't do any deconstructing... in fact I added all this to it.
So here's how I did it!

Twin Coverlets As Sofa Covers

Happy First of September!
This weather has be feelin some kinda way and I'm lovin it! It won't be long and the air will be crisp, the leaves will be golden and layers will be in full effect!
I got my covers in for the sofa, and as much as
I hate covering up those gorgeous tufts, I really feel like it's necessary.
For over a year probably two, I have been really annoying careful with this light colored living room. But I swear to you, that past year I constantly asked my husband the question "are your pants dirty"... he works on old cars and thinks nothing of coming in from the
garage and plopping right on down on this linen fabric..
The past several months have been so nice not having to ask that stinkin question...
and I'm sure he got sick of it too , so to avoid all of it,
I ordered some covers.
